Hexie Club - July Update!

Hopefully everyone remembers that there is no meeting tomorrow - enjoy your Fourth of July picnics and fireworks!!!

Bonnie, Grace, Cheryl, Ann, Carol and I had a grand time in the ACWC booth for opening day of the Farmers' Market, which also turned out to be Quilt in Public Day! Someone said we should do it more often and I agree. We are definitely on for Friday at Pike Fair (8/15/14) but speak up if you have other places we can quilt in public!

Have you started your fussy cutting project yet? I started a tab at the top of the blog to log the project. If you have any photos of your progress, send them my way and I'll add them to the blog.

Are you working on your birthday diamonds? I've got mine cut to take camping!!
For our August meeting you'll need "surprise" for Robyn, blue for Lisa and "scrappy" for Agnes.
I've updated the birthday tab if you want to do all of your diamonds now. Let me know if your color needs to be changed.

Hexie Club - 6/6/14

Birthday club - 
- This month starts our new shape: 1.5" 6-point diamonds...6 basted diamonds for each birthday gal.

LeftRight Game - Bring a beach themed FQ for our monthly Left-Right Game.

Project - 
-The group would like to work on a group fussy cutting project this fall but we need your input. Please bring your ideas on fabric, paper shape and size, pattern, etc. The internet holds a gazillion ideas and we need your help in narrowing down the choices!

Show-n-Tell - 
Has anyone made anything with their birthday hexies from last year? Let's see what you've made!!!!

Snacks - Don't forget a snack or drink of your choice

The July meeting has been cancelled - enjoy the first Friday with your families for the Fourth of July!

However, we will again be demonstrating at the Fair this year: August 15th.

Hexie Club - 5/2/14

Just one way to use your birthday diamonds next year...

Birthday club - 
-This month everyone should bring black & white 3/4" hexies. Remember, it's a secret!!
-Papers and templates for the 1.5" 6-point diamonds for Round #2 of Birthday Club will be available at the meeting.
-If you already have the papers and want to get started: think purple, blue and scrappy

LeftRight Game - Bring a FQ for our monthly Left-Right Game.

I'm still deciding on the last 6 hexies - hopefully this weekend!

Project - 
-This month we will be working on a fussy cutting project that looks more complicated than it is. Feel free to bring any stripe or border fabric (at least 1/2 yard) to play with.
-If you want to replicate my project you will need 1/2 yard of the RWB border fabric at TQD and a FQ of the coordinating red fabric.
- You'll need to bring a cutting mat and rotary cutter, 1.5" hexie papers and 1.5" hexie template. Claudia has both available at TQD.
