Pike Fair Demo - Friday, 8/16/24

Pike Fair is right around the corner!!

At last Friday's meeting we voted to do our demo outside of the Griffith House instead of at our usual location. Think quilt in public day: bring a chair, some show-n-tell and maybe a little side table. There is a big table we can lug out but I'm not sure how lawn chairs belly up to the table. There are inside options if the weather doesn't cooperate.

The (blue) Griffith House is located at the front of the fair, near the tractors and cars, just off Main Street. Parking will be on your own altho there are sometimes spots for volunteers near the House - I make no guarantees if they will be available.

We will definitely stitch 6-8pm. Feel free to come early and or stay late and don't forget to buy some fair food to munch on!

What would you like to do for our annual demo at the Fair? Claudia is not having a booth this year so we could do the demo:

• in our usual space (inside, not acknowledged by home arts department, can be crowded, tractor pull can be loud)
• near the Griffith House (outside with inside options for bad weather, more space, away from tractor pull but near saw mill). We can set up a table or just our lawn chairs.

Biennial ACWC Quilt show -

--We chose the theme of Holidays at our 12/1/23 meeting. 

--One idea included putting up a Christmas tree and decorating it with ornaments that we could sell and donate the money to a yet to be chosen organization.

     --bring 1 each red, white, blue fat quarters  (winner takes all for an awesome patriotic quilt)

     ---bring 1 general fat quarter (take home a different FQ)
