Hexie Club - 1/3/14

Yowzer - 2014 is just days away. I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday!!

Birthday club - Yeah!! It's my (Sarah's) Birthday this month and I'm looking forward to purple hexies.
     Remember, you only need to baste (7) 3/4" hexies for birthday girls.
     Planning ahead? Think purple, green and red.

LeftRight Game - Bring a FQ for our monthly left-Right game.

Project - We will be working on making Hexie BonBons. Everyone should bring 8 basted hexies in the size and color of their choice. After making a few of these bonbons, I'll add that if you can get the rosette of 7 done before the meeting, you'll get to the "harder" part of closing up the pincushion faster. No worries if you just have the basted hexies tho...

Show-n-Tell - did Santa bring you anything hexie related this year?

Snacks - Brink a snack or drink of your choice.

Swap - Any suggestions for our next swap?

LeftRight Game - Bring a Christmas FQ for our monthly left-Right game.

Project - We will be working on the "Sparkle" pieced hexie...homework assignments were handed out at the November meeting so speak up if you need a copy of the homework.

Snacks - Brink cookies (brownies, candies, etc) for a cookie exchange. Don't forget to bring copies of your recipes and something to pack your cookies in for the trip home.

Swap - We're not swapping anything this month but if you have worked on or finished your Christmas tree banner or your pumpkin mat, we would love to see your project!

Wyoming County Fair...

...begins this Saturday and runs for 8 Great Days!

Be sure to check out our booth near the Home Arts and Vegetable exhibits. There will be demos in the "classroom" inlcuding Hexie Night Friday night beginning at 6pm.

NYS Row by Row Shop Hop

The NY State Row by Row runs from July 1, 2013 to September 2, 2013.

Many stores throughout NY and PA participate in this hop with each store offering a pattern for a quilt row. This year's theme is summer festivals.

Stop in this weekend to get your free pattern from The Quilter's Daughter - featuring non-other than the Sea Serpent Festival!

The first person to bring a completed quilt (bound and labeled!) to each store before the end of the year wins 25 fat quarters!  Good Luck!

Sarah's Wild Kingdom

Looking for a fun, easy quilt?
2.5” strips plus sashing and border fabrics make this dramatic quilt come together quickly.

There are many color options for this quilt. 50 coordinated strips from jelly rolls or scrappy strips from your strip bins will give you a lot of variety with just enough parts left over for a table topper or runner.

A fun alternative would be to use at least 4 fabrics in each of two colors to finish with a basket weave effect.

The color options are endless! Let us know if you need help picking fabrics or if we can cut a custom jelly roll for you.

June Hexie Night

Can you believe it's June already? I certainly can't!

Hexie Night this month is 6/7/13 at 6pm and will be BYOP - Bring your own project.

We would love to see what you made with the pieced hexie "cogs" we made last month. You can see that I am still working on my pillow.
