Hexie Club - 9/1/17

The September meeting is to set up our exhibit at the Arts Council for Wyoming County (31 N Main Street, Perry). We'll start at 6pm and work until we are done. There are 22 quilts this year (33 last time) so I don't expect that it will take us too long to hang them all.

Please remember to have a hanging sleeve on your quilts - sleeves can be pinned on.

Also, please put your name on your quilt if it doesn't have a label - I use blue painters tape on the back

Red, White & Gratitude -

Squares of WOW fabric were distributed at the last meeting so that we can hand applique our RWB rosettes to the squares. Any orientation is fine, as long as you are within the seam allowance. We'll be working on the layout at the August meeting.

Arts Council for Wyoming County, 31 S Main Street, Perry, NY 14530

Open Wednesdays 9am-6pm, Thursdays & Fridays 11am-7pm, Saturdays 10am-3pm

·         Registration

o       1 entry form should be completed per exhibit item – please complete them ASAP but no later than 8/18/17.

o       Registration forms can be emailed to ballinger@usa.com or dropped off at the Town Hall

·         Drop off

o       Quilts must be labeled on the back with the owner’s name and in an old pillowcase which is also labeled with the owner’s name. (Blue or Masking tape works great!)

o       Quilts should have hanging sleeves.

o       Quilts should be brought with you to the ACWC on Friday, 9/1/17 for exhibit set up instead of our regular meeting. Anyone not able to attend the meeting may drop off their quilts at the Town Hall or The Quilter’s Daughter before Wednesday, 8/30/17 at 5:00pm.

·         Pick up

o       The take down date for the exhibit has not been finalized yet – more info to come.

ACWC show - The September meeting (9/1/17) will be setting up our exhibit at the ACWC. Registration forms will be distributed at the August meeting and I'll need those back ASAP - same day would be best (bring your measurements, etc to the meeting). Any quilt goes this time around - it doesn't have to be exclusively hexies. Don't forget you can sell any item that is exhibited.

Wyoming County Fair - don't forget we'll be at Pike Fair on 8/18/17. The demo is 6-8pm but come early if you want to get dinner first.
