 Sunday, 1/1/23 - New Years Day Party!!

Sarah has the key and will be at the store at noon to open up. 

We'll stitch until we can't see straight any more.

We will play 2 games. No need to buy fabric, dig through your scraps! Please bring:

     - (5) fat eighths  (9x22")

     - (5) fat sixteenths  (9x11")

9/2023 - Biennial ACWC Quilt show 

• Theme - We chose "Batiks" at the 4/22 meeting. Your project can be any size and use any paper shapes but should be mostly batik fabrics. We will also include some educational items on how batik fabrics are made.
• 242 days until our next show!

I'll be hexing at home and I hope all y'all will be able to do the same! I'm looking forward to lots of show--n--tell when we get back together!

Tuesday, 1/1/19 - New Year's Day Party

"They" say that what you do on New Year's Day is what you will do all year. It's the perfect excuse to spend the day sewing hexies!! 

The store is closed but Sarah has the key! She'll arrive at noon and we can sew till we we can't see straight anymore. Feel free to wear your PJs or comfy clothes.

• To the best of my  knowledge, I believe everyone is caught up on birthday swaps. Please speak up if you are missing any of the colors listed on last month's post.

• LeftRight Game -  A new year means a new set of FQs for our monthly swap - bring either a "stone" or a "flower"
• January is the Garnet and Carnation or Snowdrop

• 2019 Spring UFO challenge  - I don't know about anyone else but I have enjoyed picking a UFO to work on each "semester" so I'll be doing it again this spring, even if it is the same project. If anyone else wants to join in, please bring your project to the NYD party for show-n-tell.

• The second set of block directions for our Underground Railroad BOM were handed out at the December meeting. Is your block done yet? 

• And last but not least, what's a party without food??!! Please let me know what you'll be bringing and I'll add it to the list:

2018 UFO Challenge - Everyone is invited to pick one EPP UFO to make progress on (and hopefully finish!) by the Christmas in July Party. We'll be starting at our New Year's Day party but feel free to join in anytime.

2018 Birthday Exchange - 4" Kaleidoscope

• We are trying something a little different this year!! 
• Instead of each birthday girl receiving her favorite color, the birthday girl will receive the  favorite colors  of each giver to make scrappy quilts.
• Each person will be gifting the birthday girl (8) large triangles and (4) small triangles. The birthday girl will then add 8 large and 4 small triangles of background fabric to your gift to complete 2 blocks. I will post pictures on the birthday tab ASAP.
• If you choose to use 2 fabrics it will be 4 large of 1 fabric and 4 large/4 small of another fabric. 
• Anyone want to swap more than one set to make a bigger quilt?

I'm still working on pictures for the birthday page.
