Hexie Club - 11/6/20

11/6/20

I think that this month's meeting might be a warmer day than last month but we will still meet inside. Depending on how many attend we can space ourselves around the tables on the stage or we can also space out into the rest of the store as well. Don't forget (prepackaged) snacks to share and show-n-tell.

=====================================
12/4/20 - I know it's hard to believe but Christmas is on our doorstep and it's time to plan our annual Christmas Party...

Games
-- Bring two FQs, one Christmas and one anything goes - I'll have a left-right game and a winner takes all game :)
--In the past we have also had a mugrug swap - want to do that again?

Food
In the past we have held a potluck dinner. I'm not sure potluck is a good idea yet given the current covid conditions so what do you think about ordering food this year? Pizza? Subs? Restaurant?

=====================================
1/1/21 - Save the date for our annual New Years Day Stitch till you drop event.

Noon until we can't see straight any more.
Thoughts on food?

=====================================
HST Project

Block designs were handed out at the August meeting - how many blocks have you completed?
Don't forget to bring them for show-n-tell.

Hexie Club - 12/1/17 - Christmas Party

======================================
Friday, 12/1/17
  • Our group photo was delayed again - fingers crossed it happens this time! Third times the charm and all...
  • Birthday swap - Barb is asking for 2 different Civil War prints.
    • PLEASE try to catch up on all birthdays by the end of the year so we can start fresh in January. I would almost bet the recipients wouldn't mind receiving just the intended fabric and papers if you don't have time to do the basting.
  • LeftRight Game -  please bring a FQ containing snowflakes.
    • 2018 FQ assignments are posted on the FQ page so you can start shopping!
  • Mugrug swap! Your mugrug must include some type of EPP and should be about 5x8". Christmas theme/fabric is not a requirement. Please bring your mugrug wrapped.
  • We are doing a potluck dinner for our party. Please let me know of any changes...

Monday, 1/1/18
  • "They" say that what you do on New Year's Day is what you will do all year. It's the perfect excuse to spend the day sewing hexies!!
  • The store is closed but Sarah has the key! She'll arrive at noon and we can sew till we drop.
  • Feel free to wear your PJs.
  • We'll be doing a potluck meal for our New Year's Party - think about what you want to bring and we'll do signups at the December meeting.
  • Don't forget to bring the UFO you'll be working on for our challenge.
======================================
2018 UFO Challenge - Everyone is invited to pick one EPP UFO to make progress on (and hopefully finish!) by the Christmas in July Party.

======================================
2018 Birthday Exchange - 4" Kaleidoscope
  • We are trying something a little different this year!!
  • Instead of each birthday girl receiving her favorite color, the birthday girl will receive the givers' favorite colors to make scrappy quilts.
  • Each person will be gifting the birthday girl (8) large triangles and (4) small triangles. The birthday girl will then add 8 large and 4 small triangles of background fabric to your gift to complete 2 blocks. I will post pictures on the birthday tab ASAP.
  • If you choose to use 2 fabrics it will be 4 large of 1 fabric and 4 large/4 small of another fabric.
  • Anyone want to swap more than one set to make a bigger quilt?
I'm still working on pictures for the birthday page.
Papers and templates will be available at the December meeting.
